GETTING TO TAHSIS
Tahsis is located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island and is the starting location for Nuchatlitz Expedition.
Vancouver Island can be reached via ferry from Port Angeles, Seattle, Tsawwassen, Vancouver, Powell River and Prince Rupert. Schedule information is available from BC Ferries. Please find the detailed travel directions to Tahsis below the map.

TRAVEL DETAILS TO TAHSIS
+ FROM VANCOUVER
BY CAR
Drive to the BC Ferries terminal to cross over to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island (Horseshoe Bay–Departure Bay route). If you are travelling from south of Vancouver, take the Tsawwassen–Duke Point/Nanaimo route which is closest to the Vancouver airport and US border. The ferry crossing takes approximately 2 hrs.
Once in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, follow Highway 19 all the way north to Campbell River North. At Campbell River, turn west and take Highway 28 to Gold River. From Campbell River, it is approximately a 3-hour drive to Tahsis.
At Gold River, you will see the Travel Info Centre and a large boot sculpture. At this point, just keep following the road and watch for the signs directing you to Tahsis. About three kilometers past the Travel Info Centre, the “Tree to Sea” drive to Tahsis begins. The road is 63.5 kilometers or approximately 40 miles. You should arrive in Tahsis within 60-90 minutes, depending on road conditions.
CARPOOLING
For guests looking to carpool with others on their tour, we provide a carpooling sign-up platform that can be used by guests to arrange shared rides amongst themselves. Upon registering for your tour you will gain access to the carpooling platform.
*Carpool availability depends on other guests signing up to be drivers. Therefore, carpool options may not be available for your tour dates. Please keep this in mind when making travel plans.
BY air
There is no airport in Tahsis. Fly to Campbell River with Pacific Coastal Airlines or Central Mountain Air then rent a car. Alternatively, you can fly into Comox (YQQ) with WestJet, Air Canada or Pacific Coastal Airlines and rent a car there.
*Please note that Pacific Coastal Airlines flies from the South Terminal at Vancouver Airport (YVR).

+ FROM SEATTLE
BY CAR
If you are driving from Seattle, allow for the full day to get to our area. If you are travelling via south of Vancouver, take BC Ferries for the Tsawwassen–Nanaimo route (closest to Vancouver airport). If you are coming through Vancouver, take the Horseshoe Bay–Nanaimo route. The ferry crossings takes approximately 2 hrs. See BC Ferries for rates, schedules and reservations. We strongly urge all guests to reserve their ferry in advance.
Travellers from the USA can also take ferries from Anacortes, Port Angeles, and the Seattle area to Victoria on the south end of Vancouver Island.

You can fly from Seattle to Vancouver with many major airlines and from there take a flight with Pacific Coastal Airlines or Central Mountain Air to Campbell River which is the closest airport to Tahsis, then rent a car.
